One of or assignments this week was to read "Two Questions" by Barry and do a visual Double entry. I liked this assignment; I could really relate to it. I often question myslef while I'm writting. I always worry about if what im saying is interesting enough, or is it too personal and people will judge me because i say certain things. I question myself so much that its very difficult for me to write, its like writing is a burden to me. I think that a lot of people think the same thing also. I really enjoyed reading this.

One day we read a poem in class, and i really liked it. It made me want to write a peom of my own even though I'm not good at poetry. It was one of the few peoms that i read that I actually like. It wasn't to long and it wasn't boring either. It was easy to understand. It made me think about where I grew up in the counrty.  I  really dont like having to read something thats really hard to understand. I feel like it's pointless for me to even read it if I cant understand it enough to get anything from it. But, I will definatly hold on to this poem.

One of our assignmets this week was a literacy dig. In the assignment we had to choose 5 objects and tell how they were realted to literacy. The objects i chose were:
  • Smiley face pillow- I made the pillow all by myself in my sewing class. It was a project that took me the whole semester to complete. While im reading a book in my room I lay on this pillow.
  • Virgo Cup- My sign is Virgo and it was one of my graduation presents from my big sister. It made me happy that she took the time out of her day to buy it for me. It got me interested in zodiac signs and learning more about them.
  • Key Chain- I went to six flags for the first time; it was the first time i had ever been to and amusement park. When I got on the roller coaster  I was realy scared but it was a lot of fun. Now I love roller coasters and I'm always looking for new ones to come out so i can ride them.
  • Cell Phone- My phone is my main thing that keeps me in touch with the outside world. I love to text and get on fb and sometimes twitter so I can see what is going on in the world.
  • TV- My aunt gave it to me before I went away to college. It relates to pop culture; in my free time I watch a lot of TV shows, most of them are reality shows. It's another good way to keep up with news and celebrities.

In our English class we had an assignment where we had to read to selections and answer questions while we were reading. The questions were about our reading process, like what we do while we do before, during, and after we read. We had to read Carpet is Mungers, and Living like Weasels. We had to answer questions like how we felt about doing the reading, what was our location while we were reading , and how we felt after we read. I personally didn't like the reading. I really didn't understand what was going on. It's hard for me to understand things that I read when I'm not really interested in it. As I was reading I really wanted to go to sleep so that made it even harder to understand, but I eventually finished reading.

Blog post #1

I wanted my first blog post to be about my neighborhood as a child. I moved back in forth between a lot of different houses but this neighborhood was the best. In my day book I wrote about how we used to play outside until it was dark and the things I learned from the people around me. I really enjoyed writing about this, it was the first time in a while that I actually enjoyed writing about something. When I go to that neighborhood I get a feeling of comfort like I'm at home even though I don't live there anymore so when I had to write about it I enjoyed thinking about my childhood. Also as part of the assignment we had to draw a picture of my neighborhood.
