Blog Post 3

One of our assignmets this week was a literacy dig. In the assignment we had to choose 5 objects and tell how they were realted to literacy. The objects i chose were:
  • Smiley face pillow- I made the pillow all by myself in my sewing class. It was a project that took me the whole semester to complete. While im reading a book in my room I lay on this pillow.
  • Virgo Cup- My sign is Virgo and it was one of my graduation presents from my big sister. It made me happy that she took the time out of her day to buy it for me. It got me interested in zodiac signs and learning more about them.
  • Key Chain- I went to six flags for the first time; it was the first time i had ever been to and amusement park. When I got on the roller coaster  I was realy scared but it was a lot of fun. Now I love roller coasters and I'm always looking for new ones to come out so i can ride them.
  • Cell Phone- My phone is my main thing that keeps me in touch with the outside world. I love to text and get on fb and sometimes twitter so I can see what is going on in the world.
  • TV- My aunt gave it to me before I went away to college. It relates to pop culture; in my free time I watch a lot of TV shows, most of them are reality shows. It's another good way to keep up with news and celebrities.

  1. I'm a virgo too, August 29th! I think its cool how you pointed out things that had relatively important value to you, big or small, I think that shows how deeply you thought of the things. I also think that its pretty interesting that you use Facebook and Twitter to stay connected with the world, I think that is a growing phases in teens today.

  2. I thought it was really interesting how such small things with seemingly no value to someone else can hold so much meaning to you personally. I find this true in my own life. I agree with Kedric in saying that it really shows how you put a lot of thought into your items. I thought you did a really good job of describing their significance to you.
